The Mercedes-Benz has released the first pictures and information officers of SLS AMG Roadster, the open version of the "gull-wing". The SLS Roadster, which is inspired by the spirit Mercedes 300 SL Roadster, built from 1957 to 1963 specimens in 1857, incorporates the technical characteristics of the closed version: engine of 6208 cm3 V8 from 571 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and 650 Nm of torque at 4,750 rpm coupled with the seven-speed transmission Speedshift DCT dual-clutch. The House declared a total mass of 1,660 kg, just 40 kilos more than the coupe, that has allowed the SLS Roadster to match the performance of the "gull-wing" power to weight ratio of 2.9 kg per horsepower, acceleration from 0 to 100 hours in 3.8 seconds and top speed of 317 km / h (electronically limited).

Reinforcements. The absence of the roof has obviously forced the designers to review the structural elements of the body: they were introduced specific side sills, panels made ​​of thicker and with a number of interior compartments than those of the coupe. The sub-cross street is anchored with additional supports to the frame of the windscreen and the engine compartment, while in the back, between the roof and the tank, the required stiffness is achieved by means of a reinforcing bar. Another bar is located behind the seats and, in addition to reinforcing function, supports the roll-over protection system and subwoofer, 250 W High End Sound System Bang & Olufsen BeoSound. The shell of aluminum spaceframe of the SLS Roadster weighs 243 kg, only a few more than that of SLS coupe.

Author's canvas. The top of the fabric of the Mercedes-Benz AMG Roadster SLS can also be operated with the car moving up to a speed of 50 km / h, and to complete the operation of opening or closing takes 11 seconds. Three colors are available to cover soft black, red and beige. The luggage capacity is not affected by the position of the hood: closed or opened, the cube of the load is of 173 liters, a value almost identical to the coupe (176 liters).

In autumn. Roadster AMG Mercedes-Benz SLS is produced in the factory in Sindelfingen, Germany. The engine, however, is assembled by hand - using the "one man, one engine" - directly from AMG Affalterbach. The car will be ordered by June 1, while the official launch was scheduled for the next autummo. In Germany, VAT at 19%, SLS AMG Roadster will have a base price of € 195,160, in Italy, therefore, we should expect a slightly higher price.
